Mentor & Opening Batter

Usman Younas

Opening batter Right hand bat Right arm medium Hard hitter

Usman opens the batting and has done it for a decade and a half of club cricket in Melbourne. More than seven thousand career runs, eleven hundreds and a strike rate above 180 tell you how he plays: from ball one, and without apology.

At Al Fatah he is the standard the younger players measure themselves against. He is in the NWS T20 squad, but his value to the club goes past his own scores. Batters who train with him learn how to build an innings at pace and how to take a game away from the opposition inside four overs.

Seven thousand career runs. Passed the milestone in 2026, one of very few players in Melbourne club cricket to get there.
